Veronica Sanchez, MD
About Dr. Sanchez
SHE/HER
Dr. Sanchez, who is bilingual in Spanish and English, embodies a rare blend of clinical expertise, cultural humility, and compassionate care that sets her apart. As a child, she was raised with dirty hands and feet after feeding her various pets that ranged in size from a fish to a goat. Her journey began in the heart of Central California, surrounded by a rich Latinx heritage, which inspired her deep interest in cultural psychiatry.
She is a board-certified psychiatrist with extensive experience treating a broad range of mental health disorders such as Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia, Depression, and Anxiety as well as guiding individuals through the intricate process of grief and end-of-life transitions.
After graduating with honors in psychology, she embarked on her medical training at UCLA's prestigious David Geffen School of Medicine. She specialized in clinics including UCLA's Spanish-Psychosocial Clinic, Psychotherapy Clinic, and Palliative Psychiatry. Her approach is holistic, seamlessly integrating medication management with therapeutic elements to empower her patients as they navigate complex emotions, thoughts, and behaviors-ultimately enhancing their lives.
Equitable access to care is at the heart of her work, especially when mentoring new doctors. She works on reducing the stigma around mental health and ensuring quality care is available to everyone-including women, POC, the elderly, and the LGBTQ community.
On days off, you will find her watching her favorite cartoon Bob’s Burgers, or engaging in everyday self-care including reading, drinking tea and playing with her dog, Benjamin.
