Tiana Raphel, MD is a compassionate, board-certified psychiatrist who supports children, adolescents and adults virtually, and in-person at our Redondo Beach location. Bringing deep expertise to her practice, she manages a broad array of mental health challenges with a particular passion for helping patients navigate major depression, anxiety and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).
Dr. Raphel draws on a personalized, evidence-based approach in providing medication management, psychotherapy, and lifestyle interventions. She works collaboratively with patients and families to find what works best for them.
She earned her degree in Biomedical Engineering from Harvard University and her medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School. In addition, she trained in Adult Psychiatry and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human at UCLA. Further, Dr. Raphel pursued additional training at the New Center for Psychoanalysis in Los Angeles.
Dr. Raphel grew up in Houston, Texas, in a single-parent household and is the first physician in her family. These experiences inform her sensitivity to the ways personal, cultural, and systemic factors shape mental health. She is committed to providing inclusive, affirming care to individuals of all backgrounds, including people of color and LGBTQ+ communities.
In her free time, she enjoys bachata dancing, hot yoga, reading and walking on the beach.
